Direct marketing association seeks next generation of advertisers
A competition created to give youngsters experience of the work which goes on in the direct marketing industry has received a record number of entries.
The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) started the Young Direct Marketing Awards (YMDAs), which calls on pupils to create advertising material for one of three charities.
This year there have been over 200 team entries, with the finalists being announced at a ceremony earlier this month. Bradford Girls Grammar and Torquay Boys Grammar School took the awards for best campaigns in their age categories.
Pippa Box, head of marketing at the DMA, believes the awards highlight how pupils can use their classroom skills in a workplace environment.
It is hoped that the students taking part in the YDMAs will be inspired to consider working in the many roles offered to people in the world of advertising.
