Fresh strike action continues today as talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union (CWU) have yet to reach an agreement.

More than 120,000 postal workers are set to walk out, just a week after the initial two-day national strike that resulted in an estimated backlog of 30m letters.

People from the direct mail industry are furious that the problem has yet to be sorted and are dismayed at the lack of government involvement.

Robert Keitch, chief of membership and brand at the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), commented that the break down in yesterday’s talks were “a complete disaster”, with the strikes continuing to have a huge impact on businesses that use direct mail on a regular basis.
