Businesses urged to include recycling messages on direct marketing

sustainable-mail.pngNew research has suggested that businesses need to do more to promote the importance of recycling direct marketing to their audience.

The study found that only one in ten inserts placed in direct marketing messages included an environmental message or a recycled logo.

In addition, it was revealed that just 15 per cent of advertisers made any reference to the possibility that the promotions could be recycled at all.

Inserts have a proven record of delivering very high sales results to an advertiser, therefore, the advertising and printing industries have a responsibility to ensure that they play their full part in maintaining recycling rates and environmental best practice.

The research comes after the recent introduction of PAS 2020 into the direct marketing industry.
