wales_flag_large.jpgAccording to the UK Contact Centre Decision-Makers’ Guide, contact centres in Wales are the best in the UK.

The prestigious industry report said the region topped its annual survey, designed to measure performance, efficiency, human resources and technology at organisations across the country.

The study estimated the industry, reported to employ 24,000 people across 29 towns and cities in Wales, contributed around £29 million to the UK economy each year, adding the study was a testament to the professionalism of contact centre staff.

The study shows that Wales has done a great job in nurturing its growing contact centre industry. It outperformed the national average in six of the seven categories and was in the top three in three - the availability of employees, the quality of support from the regional development agency and the quality of transport links.

Sandra Busby, Director of the South West Contact Centre Forum, praised employees for their tireless efforts in putting the region at the forefront of the sector.

She said, “The ranking demonstrates the pursuit of excellence in the Contact Centre industry which continues to play a very important role in the economy of modern Wales.”
