This follows claims that the traditional email inbox had become fragmented into a range of formats including social media and mobile devices.

Clients were becoming increasingly aware of how to keep out and avoid unwanted messages. It is becoming crucial for email marketers to focus on the subscriber experience by making optimum use of business data lists and ensuring campaigns worked in conjunction with other direct marketing channels such as direct mail.

It seems quality is the most important aspect of email marketing, especially quality of communication and how it’s used in conjunction with other direct marketing channels and data lists.

Although email is an inexpensive and increasingly popular option, a range of channels should be explored for an integrated direct marketing strategy.
